Question 2008+ OEM HID question

I know it's a D1S but what manufacturer and color temperature are the stock HID's? I'm guessing Philips and it look's like a 6K

Re: 2008+ OEM HID question

You don't happen to know the temp range on BMW's do you? As I love the color they put out and would like to change over when I need to replace mine.

That's tricky because BMW's use a diferent projector and bulb than jeeps. But most oem applications are 4100-4300k....its just the projector type and bulb type are different. Lexus, BMW,Audi, infiniti.....all will look somewhat different.

Re: 2008+ OEM HID question

Like Scott mentioned, I'm pretty sure as well it's based on their projector. I think they use a special colored lens to achieve that look.

Re: 2008+ OEM HID question

The OEM capsules/bulbs are actually Osram Xenarc and have a color temp of 4150K

The purple/blue color you see that "flickers" is the cutoff. You can modify any projector for a more colorful cutoff. Depending on the projector you can bend the shield a little or add spacers
