Adding Automatic Headlamps!

Hi I went through the forum and could see very little info on adding auto headlamps to WK.

The information i got is that you need:

1- Stalk / Steering wheel switch with Auto Headlamps function
2- Auto Headlamp Sensor

The stalk is a direct replacement and the sensor connects in the middle of the dash under the windscreen (see photos).

My problem is that the harness is not there to connect the sensor!

My question is: Does anyone know where the harness is connected at the other end? On one end it connects to the sensor and on the other end it should connect to a module or something...

If the sensor harness is not there, can it be added?

Thanks

Re: Adding Automatic Headlamps!

I had a 04 JGC that I had installed fog lights and atomatic headlamps. The wiring harness had been there for the auto lamps just had to add the sensor. The wireing was down in side the dash and I had to fish it bach up to the opening to contect the sensor. Maybe it is the same for yours, you may just have to dig around to find it.

SportRanger06 is just really nice
Re: Adding Automatic Headlamps!

I just got done tearing my dash apart looking for the wiring. I couldn't find it anywhere in my laredo, so it may not be in all of them.

Re: Adding Automatic Headlamps!

Can someone with a WK and Auto Light tell us where the other end of the harness is connected?

It plugs into the instrument cluster. Connector 3 pin 12 (signal) and connector 3 pin 15 (signal return).

Thanks Milous

Do you know if there is a specific harness to use?

There is no separate harness available, the wiring is part of the very large I/P harness. Did you check under the dash for the harness (pull cluster) or did you just check through the sensor hole?
