climate control led swap too dim

So I changed out the burnt lights in the climate control module with LEDs recently, and it still seems a bit too dim. I used bright white LEDs with 480 ohm resistors (IIRC). I get even, but dim lighting on the dials, but I can barely see the ac and defrost buttons. Any ideas on how to make it brighter? Or how to distribute the light better?

Re: climate control led swap too dim

is there a write-up for the LED swap? I can't seem to find it. I want to find out where I get the LEDs from/which kind to get
