Coloured Front Grille

Has anyone tried wrapping a Front Grille?
I have a spare Chrome front grille for my 2007 Grand Cherokee and have tried unsuccessfully to get a painted bright silver Grille in the UK.
Thought I might be able to wrap it with Silver vinyl. I have already done the door pillars Black and all the interior wood trim Bright Silver, but not sure if the grille is a bit too intricate of a shape to wrap???

Re: Coloured Front Grille

How would the chrome be prepped should it be removed or flatted for a better surface to paint onto?

Re: Coloured Front Grille

Just sand some, wash and paint.

Yep, as said above, sand it, wash it, then paint it. I did mine black and also used primer and clear coat. Sand it down first until the chrome isn't too reflective anymore. Good luck!

I have tried vinyl wrapping myself and it's not easy. No expressive tools are required but I always get little creases and wrinkles or I cut away too much. The good thing is if you mess up you just peel off and start over. The actual wrap of the internet is dirt cheap and all you need is a heat gun. Why not give it a shot?
