Courtesy lights Don't work HELP

Hey all,

It has been a while since I have been on the forum but last night I finally got my LED interior light kit in. As I was installing them (in the dark so I have the lights on like an idiot i know) I blew the 10amp fuse under the dash. I didn't have one one me so I threw in a 15amp fuse to finish installing the lights. My reasoning was just to make sure the polarities were correct. The courtesy lamps at this time still did not work. I then went to autozone and replaced it back with a 10amp. All of the map lights work when pressed and the dimmer switch does what it should as far as controlling the dash lights. What have I done? Is there a separate fuse for the courtesy lights because JeepWK seems to show they are the same. The glove box light works but is not LED. The footwell lights do not b.c to my knowledge they only light up when opening and closing the door. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Courtesy lights Don't work HELP

Ok so I have done some digging around with my multimeter and found an issue but no solution. Initially I thought it could be the gauge cluster not telling the lights to come on when the door is ajar. I own 2 05 GC so I swapped clusters and nothing. I next decided to check voltages to the lights. With the doors open if you pull down the panel under the steering column you can gain access to the light in the foot well. There are 2 wires that run to it, one being yellow and org and the other red. When I check for 12v I get 12v on both lines. I should have a ground on one line and according to very simple wiring diagram I could find the red is 12v hot all times and the gauge cluster would control the org/yellow. Any thoughts?

Re: Courtesy lights Don't work HELP

Update !! I found a damaged Led in one of the footwell light fittings. Replaced this and everything started working again after I set then reset the alarm system which uses the interior light delay.
So glad its working correctly now.
