Re: Dashboard removal and covering

Of course, as soon as I'll do it I'll post some pictures.
Now I'm working on the door panels.
I think dash will require about 1 month because I must change disk brakes and other little things...
In the meanwhile I'm ordering the complete wood trim kit from eBay USA.

My dashboard is actually quite poor and I'd like to upgrade it as the Overland (or more )

Re: Dashboard removal and covering

I painted most of the interior in my jeep and when it came time to do the dash i got a little stumped. Its no easy task getting it out, I ended up painting it without removing it which wasnt so easy either

Re: Dashboard removal and covering

Beautifull work, I think.
But how do you painted the dashboard without removing it?
First of all the shift console between the seats.... ????????
Did you removed the seats?
Is it simply???

Re: Dashboard removal and covering

I used plastic drop cloth, taped at the bottom of the windshield and covered all the way to the ceiling then down to cover the seats from over spray, then taped off the bottom half of the dash and ran another drop cloth covering everything except the top dash i wanted to paint. It took some time thats for sure.. as for the shift console.... it was black already on top, wasnt worried about the lower portion because I was going for the 2 tone effect inside the vehicle, I think you have to remove the e-brake b 4 you can remove the shift console?? did paint the center console though it comes off easy, like 4 screws If i remember correctly.. people that ride in my jeep have no idea that I painted it, they assume it came from the factory like this and that is exactly what i was going for! hope that helps a little

Re: Dashboard removal and covering

Thats where I was in the dead middle of the state. I always went to Clear Water defiently had some good times there. I have never been to colorado so I can't comment there. I just know that it is the capital for snow sports. I know some bad a$$ snowboarders come out of there.
