Door Mirror

The glass on the passenger side mirror of my 06 Grand Cherokee Overland broke. I have the heated and powered mirrors. Should I just replace the glass or the whole assembly? Also the assembly has the chrome cover on the back of it. Is that removable at all? The only assembly part I can find is all black and does not include the chrome piece.
