Lol! ok ok will take some ass pics then no I just put the brakes lights in so far. Ordered wrong reverse lights as export model uses 3157 (could have checked first ..). indicators will give a go if I get some spare time tomorrow, otherwise when I am back from holiday in July.

Another question as you're the light guru I want to swap out the stock high beam 9005s with some higher rated HIDs. So far seen these from VLEDs (VHID) which have ballasts etc. I don't think I will need the Relay harness as its for high beam application, right?

Saw other members mention Morimoto. Alternatively XenonDepo Extreme HIDs, and Volt HID kits.

If I'm spending north of $150 for a pair of bulbs, ballasts etc, I would like to get it right The main purpose is to have a very strong beam that has a higher colour temp than the stock ones .. I would say 5k. I have the stock HID lows (which I presume is 4300k).

So, I understand why I would need a new set of bulbs and ballasts for this to work, but not sure if the High beams will need a relay harness (presume this is only needed if these bulbs where to be wired as low's or fogs - according to the info on the v-leds site?). And finally, I assume all three would be equally good .. I have bought everything from V-Leds and they have been very helpful, so loyal to the band if the VHIDs is the right way to go ..

Much appreciated!

Ok scrapped the idea of HID for high beams, a lot of cash just to flash

Will spend the money on a decent compressor instead

Indicators will go in next week...

Re: Exterior V-led, info required please...

agreed. the HID ballasts and bulbs dont like the flash ...........but some dont care LOL

the only way to add a different High Beam is to retrofit a projector in that spot. you could then remove the cut off blade so all you have is a full projector. but you still need another HID kit plus the projector LOL.

when you get time spell out each bulb you used ,,,,,for the next guy. I dont have a jeep anymore so once the both of us are gone......the knowledge will be gone LOL.

Re: Exterior V-led, info required please...

Alright, indicators went in last week, pics to follow. Reverse lights on order, same 21 LED bulbs. Will post part numbers, but note this is for a WH and NOT a WK, so reverse lights are different.

I also 'need' to change the rear fog lights to LEDs too, and then all that is left which is not LED is the HIDs and the high beam .. I guess I can live with that

I like how the front indicators changing to LEDs get rid of that 'egg yolk' look in the headlights, as its all white and blends in with the glass.

Re: Exterior V-led, info required please...

Was it easy to install the fog LEDS ?? I mean no resistors -right, you simply remove the OEM and instal the LED ??

QUOTE=EtherealPonx;844695]V-leds came in today, international shipment takes forever when 1 item is not in stock!! (and they forgot to send 4 bulbs but thats another story). Anyways, have done everything else except the indicators as I wanted to spend a bit of time considering I have to mount plates and install the resistors .. maybe over the weekend ..

Changed the Daylight running lamps, fogs, tail/brake lights. Couldn't change the reverse light as the export model is not a 921 (which is what I ordered), instead it is a the 3157 like the older 2005-2007 models .. the joy of owning an export model

here are some comparisons :

Left is V-LED 19 bulb 921 lights, right is OEM:

Right is the V-LED H10 Fog light, and left is OEM:

I will have to order the rear 3157 reverse lights separately, but will be busy enough with the indicators until then.[/QUOTE]

Hello Connie, thats correct. I didn't use any resistors, its a simple removal of the H10 bulb and putting in the new LED one. I'm very happy with the output of these, and the colour temperature matches the HID.

Ok, it appears that the specific type of led fog bulbs is not available. Instead VLEDS offer the following model/type and i wonder if this is the same model/type of led bulb as there is a different numbering ( yours is HB3 the one available is HB4, and the other number is 9145 for your bulbs but 9006 for the one i find. I really don't know what these numbers are and what the difference - if any difference at all.

Your type is 5K WHITE 10 LED DRL/FOG LIGHT BULBS HB3 9005 H10 9145

The one available is 5K WHITE 10 LED DRL/FOG LIGHT BULBS HB4 9006

Appreciate your opinion.......
