Factory Towing Package Install?

I have my '10 GC Limited and it came without the towing package so I have a regular bumper on the back without the cutout for the hitch. I'm looking into installing a Factory MOPAR hitch receiver and wiring harness. However, I don't want a drop down hitch that sticks out below my bumper, I want one that would go with the bumper that includes the cutout. My question is, would I need to order a whole new bumper to install the factory hitch? Or could I cut the bumper? And if I can cut it, where could I find the dimensions to cut so the hitch will fit?

Re: Factory Towing Package Install?

The OEM hitch should include the template for cutting out your bumper, as well as the trim to go around the hole to clean things up.

No new bumper necessary!

Re: Factory Towing Package Install?

Recently did this myself, I got the factory hitch, when you remove the bumper on the inside there will be dashed lines for the cutout, I outlined them with blue tape so I could see better and I cut it out with a jig saw, just make sure you torque the bolts to the right setting and you'll need the bezel to cover the cutout as we'll, either get the mopar wiring kit or I bought a kit from u haul a 4 pin but I bout a 4 pin to 7/4 pin connector and rigged that up so it's factory, plus I didn't have to pay at the dealer to get it activated like the mopar one. Good luck😊
