Re: HID fog users CHIME IN !

plug and play, no need to realign just make sure you get them seated properly so you get the nice cutoff (as best a reflector can)

Re: HID fog users CHIME IN !

I personally always suggest relay kits, my vehicle would not fire my fog lamp balasts without a relay (others results may vary).

As for the color, honestly yellow (3k) is the most functional and easiest on the eyes for others. If you pull up to a wall with your fog lamps on you will see the actually scatter quite a bit of light up, it seems typically when I am getting blinded by hids 90% of the time its not the headlamps of the vehicle its typically the 5-6k + fog lamps doing the blinding.

Re: HID fog users CHIME IN !

That's why I am planned the yellow fogs .. not too bright to blind other drivers and will fit well with the stock headlamp !

I will order from XenonDepot in a week or two. Prices are awesome with the JG coupon code !!

Re: HID fog users CHIME IN !

They are plug and play, the hardest part is running the wires and finding where to mount the ballasts. Use a relay harness (2 for the headlamps, one for each lamp), each relay harness needs a power and ground then plug all the plugs together, install the bulbs and viola.

Re: HID fog users CHIME IN !

You dont need the error code eliminator.

By relays I mean a relay, its a complete overlay harness that gives a dedicated B+ to the ballasts instead of throught he oem circuits.

(thanks google)

you can buy the harness drawn above from basically any hid vendor (check out xenon depot in our venders section), only difference is you plug pin 87 into the ballast and not run it straight to the bulb. Still a VERY simple install. If its not something you have done before you it may look MUCH worse than it is, so long as you know how the birds and the bees work so you know how the males plug into the females its very straight forward...

I like to pull the front bumper cover off, I have my headlamp ballasts and relays mounted to the top of the crash bar. That said the first night I installed them I didnt take anything apart and just ran the harness where I could... I was pressed for time that night

Re: HID fog users CHIME IN !

For those that have 3K in the fogs, how often, if any, do you guys get flashed? I so want to pull the trigger on the fogs but don't want to get flashed by every other car on the road like I did with my Liberty. But I do know that the fog lights in the Liberty were near the headlights while the fog lights in my Escape is down on the bummer.
