How do I Remove the Wiper Cowls from my 06 WK

I want to re-finish the wiper cowls because they are sun bleached like a mf and does not look good against the black. How do you remove the wiper cowls, I am having some difficulty figuring it out. Thanks.

Re: How do I Remove the Wiper Cowls from my 06 WK

remove the little caps from the wiper arms and unbolt them. Be careful removeing the wiper arm so not to mess up the threads. Pull straight up. Then pul the rubber gasket off the wiper cowl. The cowl then just unsnaps....

I painted mine FWIW and it turned out great. I used paint/clear to match my jeep from automotivetouchup.com

Re: How do I Remove the Wiper Cowls from my 06 WK

Thanks... I am just going back to a brand new OEM look for them and using black trim paint from Dupli-Color. I already did the trim piece above the rear bumper and I turned out great. Just trying to get everything all cleaned up and looking new.

I have the pieces all sprayed and could of installed them last night... but had to watch Favre suck it up last night (since he burned some bridges here in GB). Will have before and after pictures posted tonight after they get installed.

they look very nice. I wish I had the time nowadays to do that. I dont like the light grey of my interior. I have the 08-10 dark slate door panels with leather armrests.....just need to find the rest of the stuff or paint it like you did! Congrats! I left you +rep in the thread

Re: How do I Remove the Wiper Cowls from my 06 WK

Can't agree more... for the $6 investment, it has made a tremendous difference and a pretty nice face lift. I also re-coated the plastic piece above the rear bumper.

I got the all the pieces installed this morning before I went to work and one of my friends who also has a WK couldn't believe the difference it made. Now he want's me to re-coat his trim pieces. GO FIGURE!
