How T0: Jeep SRT Bumper Install

I finally have all my pieces ready to go for my SRT8 clone. I would like to save a few bucks by putting all the body parts on myself. Does anyone have a step by step on how to do the front and rear bumper installs?

Re: Bumper Install

very easy......do you have a plastic rivet setter, rivets and all screws/bolts/fastners? Do you have the 06-07 or 08-10 bumper?

1-remove grille and old bumper-cut rivets or drill them out to remove them from the fender well
2-if you have the 06-07 SRT bumper-add the triangular SRT fender liner extentions. they are labeled left and right. Use rivets setter and rivets to attach. skip this step if you have the 08-10 bumper
3-attach the two lower bumper support arms-use one bolt from the skid plate to attach eah arms. They are labeled L/R as well.
4-attach the SRT brake ducts with the supplied push pins to the upper frame rail.(skip if you dont have these)
5-lay the SRT bumper on a soft surface face down(on bed sheets, blanket etc)
6-attach foglamps(two screws each) and lower grill-presses into place
7-attach SRT lower plastic support bracket to the bottom of the SRT bumper with supplied push pins
8-attach the two supplied metal clips where the support arms attach to the lower lip of the bumper(second slot from the end on the lower bumper lip)
9-with help.....set bumper into place and align the attachment holes on the top of the bumper with the holes on the upper bumper support. Push in push pins.(08 bumpers snap INTO the support bracket)
10-line up lower support arms into their space and add the bolt from the bottom up through the metal clips
11-align each fender liner and add plastic rivets
12-lay down under bumper and use the push pins to attach the lower plastic support to the upper frame rail of the Grand Cherokee. Plug in fog lamps
13-use push pins to attach the brake ducts to the bumper
14-ENJOY!

Re: How T0: Jeep SRT Bumper Install

the rear bumper is just like the WK bumper except it has a different absorber. Just remove the wk absorber, add the SRt absorber and put the SRt rear bumper on
