LED headlights

Does anyone have these on their GC? If so, how do they perform?

Re: LED headlights

I think the biggest challenges with GCs utilizing LED headlights are ventilation and clearance. The dust caps severely limit the airflow required to manage ventilation (or provide airflow for passive cooling) and they also limit how long of a contraption we can fit and still use the dust cover. The bulbs that don't require such large assemblies simply aren't bright enough.

I've done a lot of reading on these and contacted several vendors. We're kind of SOL on LED headlights for now.

Re: LED headlights

the WK does not have dust caps on the back of the housing.

LED headlights

Just installed a set of 9006 Flashtech LED headlights on my '08 last Friday. Love them so far! Way brighter than stock. I had a pair of Sylvania ZXEs on it prior; much brighter than those as well. I did have to adjust the headlights down a little. Just enough to reduce glare to on-coming drivers. Only issue I am trying to resolve right now is the while the vehicle is running, if you switch the lights to OFF or park lamps only, the LEDs stay on until the vehicle is turned off. They are at least dim during this time. Don't have much to go on, but I do believe it has a lot to do with the PWM system in the Jeep. It's sending just enough voltage the bulb to keep the LEDs lit until after the vehicle is turned off and no voltage is going out. Flashtech reps weren't sure what is causing the issue either. I will be installing a pair of resistors to both lights this week, and hopefully this resolves the issue.

And yes, no dust caps on the back.

Re: LED headlights

Fixed my issue with my LEDs as mentioned in the above post. Installed a 50w 6ohm resistor on both lights, and all is normal now. Lights shut off like normal even if you're in Auto mode.
