The glow won't kill your battery as LED's only use 1/10 the original power of incandescent bulbs. So it's more of an annoyance than a detriment.

I usually go with V-LED's and do you have one in your possession or do you need to order one? I personally don't know what amout of "Ohms" you would need for a WK so hopefully a fellow owner can chime in and help you out.

Here's a pic the kind I like to use:

A lot of people get their resistors from V-LED's as most prefer to deal with V-LED's. You'll want to find a good spot to mount them. WJ owner's usually mount them above the rear cargo light so maybe that can work for your WK.

Their Resistors:

Re: LED problem....

If you pick up a Canbus LED and put it in the rear hatch it will eliminate the glow. Thats what I did. A Canbus is and LED bulb with a resistor built onto it. I bought mine here for $6.

I also did the LED strip in the cargo area. I bought 2, 24" LED strips on ebay. I put one in the cargo area and one under the hood, to have in-case I need to be under there when its dark. I used Omelet's build thread, and this as a guide. It was pretty simple once I got the wiring harness out far enough to tap into it.

i actually bout a canbus proof bulb from vleds for the rear and i think i have them somewhere else too, just cant remember where i put them. but they did not eliminate the glow. kinda of aggravating but whatever.

as far as the led strip mod i think im gonna try it sometime in the spring.. like ive said im a little nervous with anything electrical, maybe ill fnd someone who knows a little more about it to help me out. definitely need more light back in the hatch area.

thanks for the info!
