LED problem....

So ive put in most of my vled leds,... and tonight i tried to put in my map light (dome light) ones and a fuse blew, and i dont know why. i have not changed the trunk area one or the glove box, but all others are changed out.

as soon as i put the bulb in it sparked and everything went out... thought maybe i got the wrong bulbs but came back in and they seem to be the right ones.. 561_W_6k is the part number and it says its for 561 562 564 and 212-2 it does not list the 578 which is what the sylvania chart says belongs in there.
but when i type 578 into the vled search this is what popped up...

can someone help? what bulbs did you use for your map/dome light?

Anyone????

578 should work. It's recommended that you disc the neg battery when messing with anything electrical.

i tried everything,.. im guessing these bulbs just suck. reversed them,.. disconnected the battery and put them in,... just kept blowing the fuse. so i just bought some putco leds maybe those will work better they have the rounded end instead of these ones that have a weird squared end

thanks.. all the other vleds i bought were fine and look awesome i went cheap on these ones because they were on sale, guess it wasnt such a good idea

ive come to grips that i am just cursed with led lights in general!

My dome lights are back ordered wont get them for a while...

My 194's came in today put them in the lift gate cargo light and glove box. glove box didnt work at all.. switched it around etc... and the liftgate cargo one worked.. it was really bright looked good then came smoke! pulled it out and the board on the led burnt out...

called vleds.. and they credited me back the money... so i bought others he sugested... while i was talking to him i told him i heard about them from JG and he said the forum is where i should find out whats going on with the bulbs because the forum people tend to know more about it :lol:

Hopefully these next ones will work out... i want to get onto the next mod

Finally they are all in! they look awesome. but i have a glow from the dome lights, the last ones i installed. its weird tho because i used canbus proof bulbs just bout everywhere else.
is there any how to's on installing resistors??? and will this glow end up killing my battery?

im not sure what i have to do... i have vleds and i want to get rid of the glow in the map lights... ive seen people installing a resistor or something to get rid of it. dont know where to get them from or how to put them in

i changed the rear hatch bulb to a sylvania bulb instead of the led... and its fine now

on my bro's mustang, it got the same glow. Idk if its safe or not, having that run all day/night but he insists ppl on his forums go about it the same way.

did you ever consider doing the rear cargo light mod?

the one with the led strip? yea i want to... but im awful with anything electrical.. i was surprised i did my hids myself lol. im worried about messing something up splicing and all that good stuff.

If you pick up a Canbus LED and put it in the rear hatch it will eliminate the glow. Thats what I did. A Canbus is and LED bulb with a resistor built onto it. I bought mine here for $6.

I also did the LED strip in the cargo area. I bought 2, 24" LED strips on ebay. I put one in the cargo area and one under the hood, to have in-case I need to be under there when its dark. I used Omelet's build thread, and this as a guide. It was pretty simple once I got the wiring harness out far enough to tap into it.

i actually bout a canbus proof bulb from vleds for the rear and i think i have them somewhere else too, just cant remember where i put them. but they did not eliminate the glow. kinda of aggravating but whatever.

as far as the led strip mod i think im gonna try it sometime in the spring.. like ive said im a little nervous with anything electrical, maybe ill fnd someone who knows a little more about it to help me out. definitely need more light back in the hatch area.

thanks for the info!

That's weird about the canbus. Everyone I've heard use then, it took care of it.

The strip mod really isn't bad. I was a bit nervous too. But like i said three hardest part was getting harness out far enough to be able to work with it.
