LED's in cluster and rest of interior

Curious how hard it would be to install LED's in the cluster and the other small spots like on the door panel and center console. I've heard it's way more complicated than just swapping bulbs. Any thoughts???

If you have experience with a soldering iron, it's not too difficult. I changed my REC headunit and A/C controls over to white. A little time consuming, but not hard at all.

Re: LED's in cluster and rest of interior

the cluster is tricky.

vendor here used to do lots of them. I had a completely blue cluster along with every other light, switch, etc. he had a fire few years a go and mostly stopped. But IIRC he's been popping up here and there,

diboblo is his user might give him a try via PM see if he still doing WK.

the HVAC and center stack ones can be done if you can solder understand some basic electrical. they are oem incandescent so you need to remove the incandescent and add some led. lots of DIY about that. search here and youtube.

the shifter is 3 LEDs and the doors get more complicated.

Any idea why the cluster is tricky? I haven't torn it apart and looked inside yet. I'm interested in changing it over to LED to match the rest of my interior.

Re: LED's in cluster and rest of interior

just removing and replacing the needles is a true pain. bob made a tool to do it. and there was a reset sequence. also there were multiple size LEDS in there.

send bob a PM like i said above he may be able to give some better idea.

he charged about $25 a piece for the center stack.

a cluster was like $200.
