Look without side skirts

Hi all, somewhat new here. On my 4th Jeep. 2005 WK Limited 4.7.

I recently put the Daystar lift and new 245/70/17 Grabber A/T on the Jeep and noticed some people have removed the front air dam to help with the lifted/aggressive look. I planning on doing this as well.

I was wondering if anyone has taken off the plastic side skirts as well, I've read that people will swap them out and/or paint them and wind up breaking rivets etc....so I don't wanna go through the trouble of taking them off and running into problems if leaving them off won't work out. I'm thinking that there will be noticeable holes and what not, which doesn't make it a great idea. Has anyone done this? Or does anyone know if this would look good to match removing the front air dam? Thanks here is a couple current pics....(everyone loves pics)

Nice WK. IMHO don't take the sides off. It looks like $hi#. It looks unfinished. Truck bed line them if you want or replace them with some Steel Armadillo sliders. http://www.thesteelarmadillo.com/

Yea that's what I was afraid of. I was hoping someone would have picture with them off while doing a swap or paint project. Ive seen people take off the air dam in the front and it looks much better to me, so that's why I was asking about the side skirts too. Gonna def check out those sliders tho too. Thanks!
