Looking to change some bulbs to LED

I'm looking to change a few of the bulbs inside and outside.. (license plate light) of my jeep to LED (on the inside).. but totally clueless. I have been reading around and have read something about a resistor (I think.) If I were to change my overhead interior lights and lights by your feet (lol can't think of a better name) when you open the door, would it require a resistor? Also, would changing out the license plate light require a resistor or anything? Sorry, I'm a noob when it comes to HID/LED.

Thanks guys

Edit: Also, I was wondering where I could look into information about the LED change out for the HVAC center.

Re: Looking to change some bulbs to LED

you will only need a resistor if you decide to change ALL the interior lights to LED.If you leave 1 light stock you wont need a resistor. Most of us leave the cargo light stock.

As for the license plate, you wont need a resistor.

Re: Looking to change some bulbs to LED

Awesome! So they are just plug and play. I'm currently looking at bulbs on xenondepot.. there are a few different choices. Are there certain bulbs you guys like to use over the other? Or do you just use the cheapest one?

Re: Looking to change some bulbs to LED

I personally used Vleds.com. Just find the bulb #'s for each on wkjeeps.com and look it up @ vleds.

Xenondepot is a top notch site too, cant go wrong with it!

Changed all of mine out to LEDs (except the cargo area light), love them! Didn't need resistor. Pop the old ones out, pop the new ones in! Simple!
