Mounting Lights...Opinions/Options needed

So about a month ago I ordered a set of Hella 500 Black Magics. My plan was to mount them to a Matrix when I got it but as of now the Matrix buy is on hold. At some point I will buy the Matrix and mount the Black Magics on it.

What I am debating about is what to do with the lights now.

Should I mount them on the front bumper? My only issue with that is that I don't want the holes in the bumper after I eventually buy the Matrix.

Should I mount them behind the grille?

Should I mount them to the Rola? I think 2 would look goofy.

Should I do nothing and just wait?

Any other options?

What do you all think?

I think the behind the grill look is very interesting. I think it looks really good and you would get some good use out of the lights. Plus whatever fabrications you make to install them will be easily hidden, and if you run the wires long enough you can mount them right to your matrix without having to re wire (taking it a matrix is a bumper guard of some sort). Working smarter not harder!!!!

That's just my two sense.

O yea those are sharp I have seen those. Nice taste. I would say that would be the easiest for you to make the transition to the matrix and not make any mods to areas that will be visibly noticeable.

Some one on here has it on there jeep its a white wk. shoot time to get forum hunting

Thanks. I have seen Jay's rig. That thing is a beast.

I like the look, but one of the things that I love about the Black Magics is they way they look and putting them behind the grille hides that. I know I will eventy move them but now I am thinking about possible getting an aftemarket bumper instead of the matrix or even buying 2 more of the hellas and mounting 4 of them to the Rola. Ugh, decisions, desicions, decisions.

Man you have some decisions to make my friend, plust the shackles you were looking at in another forum. look at you buddy.

I just googled those lights man those look sharp. I really like those. I want to do a setup similar to Jay's, but I figure I better do the HID first in low/fogs and then go from there.

Sorry for the holdup! lol im here now.... I say two behind the grill, four on the roof, and two on the matrix. :D lol but in all seriousness, behind the grill is a cool setup, its different then what most people do! Run the wire long, and then after we stay on marlins ass and he fixes his issues you can get the matrix and mount to that!

The way I have mine set up is the PIAAs are on the Matrix for longer range spots. The D2s on the top give a wider spectrum. When I get the 20" light bar, It's going on top between the D2s! It's kind of whatever you really wanna do w your lighting! If you have the hoop kit for the Matrix, the behind the grill lights will be blocked.

What kind of lighting are you looking to do?

I'd say behind the grille...

Well I tried something different after all. I was going to mount them behind the grille and as i was getting ready I got another idea.

I still have some work to do but you will get the general idea. I made some brackets behind the grille, so that the lights look like they free float in front. I am very happy with the look just need to adjust them a bit and wire them. I will post better pics tomorrow.

I'm not even married yet. I was thinking about getting fixed after me and the gf last scare. I was like is it reversible lol I am in I will just put some fresh samples in the freezer in case it isn't.

I know having your own family is a blessing and more rewarding and fulfilling then anything else, but not just yet.
