My New Brush Guard?

Ok, so I've read through a lot of the forums on your different brush guards and bull bars and thanks to Redpit, I have decided on purchasing the hunter one (shown below). I will probably remove the headlight sections, but I will have to see how I feel about them once it is mounted.

Now, here is my question... I have a Steel Blue WK with some chrome, but not nearly what my old Jeep had. I can't decide whether to get the stainless steel guard or the powder coated black. Please lend me your opinions!

Thanks for all your help!

(Sorry, the pictures of my current Jeep are awful because it's raining today, but I really wanted to get this posted.)

MY JEEP:

Stainless Guard...

I would like to know which y'all think would look better

Oh and my Old Jeep...which I LOVED the way it looked...

Re: My New Brush Guard?

Glad to hear you're gonna get it, I got it because of a forum member on here too. With your wheels I think stainless would look nice. Plus it a little different then most, so it gets my vote.

Re: My New Brush Guard?

That's what I was thinking, but with the rubber on the guard and no headlight sections, you would hardly see any of the stainless anyway?

Off topic, but you should do the Overland grille mesh too with that brush guard. I truly think it would bring the whole look of everything all together. There's actually one for sale on here that's your color!

Can you post a link to the thread so I don't have to dig for it?

I did make a custom mesh grill insert but wasn't sure how it would look or hold up, so I didn't want to cut apart mine yet. It's actually mounted behind my grill, you just obviously can't see with how dark the pics are. Its the same one I ended up finding out a bunch of other members made from some wire mesh at home depot. I'm afraid I'll be limited with what I can do until I get this mounted. Looking at another thread, someone said the top of it mounts through the grill.

Re: My New Brush Guard?

Oh and I welcome any other suggestions of mods. When the weather clears up I'll try to post some decent pics of my Jeep.

I'm on my phone so I can't link you directly to it. Search "steel blue grill" (it could also be spelled grille so try both) and it should pop up. The original poster's username is swing4terps.

Also, as for the custom mesh, I have a grille backing (the part that has the slats) for an 08-10 that you could buy cheap and cut up, that's if you're leary about taking the plunge and cutting the only one you have. Then you can pop your shell onto the one with the custom mesh.

My personal opinion is that the custom mesh jobs can look good if done cleanly, but you will never be able to compare the overall fit and finish that the Overland/SRT honeycomb mesh provides. I've had both, and once I got the SRT mesh on I never looked back.
