Need help with 08 air dam!

So I'd like to take the air dam off my 08 WK to give it that more rugged look in the front, like the 05 without the lower portion, but I've yet to find/see anything about getting the damm dam off, if its even possible, how to do it if it is, or how it looks without...
really frustrating!

if you are unfamiliar with the design, here is a link to a pic of what the 08 air dam is like compared to an older model....
The top (obviously) is what my 08's front looks like.
http://www.wkjeeps.com/2008/2008_wk_012.jpg

I read one thread on jeep forum where some say it can be removed and some say it cant... but no one offers any more insight on the subject.. I'd really like to remove it for a better/higher look in the front, but im afraid it cannot be removed.. I mean, look at where that fog light placement is... looks to be all one piece..but im just not sure at all... where would the fogs be housed then? or do certain parts come off the front only and leave the fog lights housed?...that seems like it would look terrible if it were the case...

Does anyone know anything about removing the air dam from an 08?
Anyone done it to theirs or have any advice/pics?

Thanks

IIRC its held on by 4 connectors and 7 clips.

there are a few clips and such on the back. just look behind there, it is common sense on what to remove

Re: Need help with 08 air dam!

around the fogs there are clips. Underneath there are about 5 twist/pull clips that need to be removed.

The owners manual i believe shows you how to remove this.

Thanks.. yea it does in the manual, was just trying to see if anyone who did it had some pics too.. i feel like it may look weird with how the seams seem to be... especially with the fogs location...
I'm gonna just take if off soon and see how it looks.. I may grab a 4x front guard though to attach once i take it off... not so sure on the safety of parts after i remove it.. especially when im off road.
I'll be plasti dippin my wheels in a few weeks too so i'll throw up some pics in a new post whenever that gets done.

Thanks for the help guys

Re: Need help with 08 air dam!

Here you go. Some pics are with stock 245/65/17 some are 265/65/17. There are 7 twist clips 3 in the middle and 2 on each end. Twist the slip and pull down and remove it. Then there is 1 tab at each corner of the air dam. Carefully pull away from the vehicle at each end being careful of these tabs because they are delicate.
