I just installed the oem hids in my '06 wk last night, just wondering if I should turn off the feature that turns the headlights on when i open the doors. Is it bad for the bulbs to turn on and off like that, like if its day time that is and i dont keep them on when i start driving?
haha ive been doin that too with the key fob just to stare at them they look so sharp compared to the old yellowish headlights... i checked with my dads bmw and it doesnt turn the headlights on in the day time when opened remotely idk if its this same reason of shorting the lifespan of the light... i hope not cause i like to look at them as i approach my car
okay good thanks i didnt want to have to turn that feature off cause like i said i love lookin at how pure white and bright they are as im walkin up to my car haha
Hey everyone, I have a similar question to the original posters question. Ive searched all over and havent really seen the answer to what Im wondering. I plan on buying the projector headlights and installing a H1 5000k kit in them with relay harness. I have an '08 Grand Cherokee Limited with the auto on headlights when it gets dark. Would this feature still work the same way with a relay harness or would I have to turn my headlights on and off manually every time? And how about the daytime running lights. Is there a way to disable them or will the HIDs be on during the day? I just got my Jeep 3 months ago so Im still learning all the ins and outs to it. Thanks for any info you can give me.
I dont like the idea of putting just a hid kit in my halogen housings. I want to do it right and get the projectors to have the right cutoff and all of that.
i dont blame you, hids in halogen lights are not the right thing to do. i would do a retrofit or look for oem hids from junkyards. i bought mine from a junkyard. for retrofit help...... check out this thread
