Re: Omelet's Wicked Pissah Painted LED Headlights

The attachment plan was to used hot glue. I did the first one outside at night which turned out good...

...or so I thought until the next morning! With the sunlight I noticed that you could see the glue through the corner of the lens.

On the driver side I decided to paint the bottom black first and then glue the spacer on to see if it looked any better.

It looked much better!

So then I took the passenger side back off and painted it too.

To reinforce the spacer a little bit more I made a couple of gussets for each side and glued them in. And this is the finished product.

A comparison between the 05-07 OEM that I removed and the 08+ HID headlamps that went in.

And some random finished shots. (some of these were from before the bumper was bolted back in completely)

I still have to aim them in and finish up some loose ends, but they are now in and working. I will get some more shots up later!

Thank you very much gents! It feels good to finally have these things finished. I am stoked about how well they turned out!

2for3 your question should be answered now

With all do respect to everyone else. These are hands down the best looking headlights I have seen on JG. Now if only I had a black pair.

I used #M double sided tape when I had my humps. 3m'd them to the bumper

Thanks Bud! You know they do make black paint that I am sure you could find locally!

Well these are still in some what of a test faze. If the glue doesn't hold and I loose one I wont be bummed. These ones don't fit perfect and they are real easy and cheap to make. So If I have to make more I will revise the design slightly to make them fit slightly better around the sides and use strong epoxy instead of hot glue. Time will tell

Re: Omelet's Wicked Pissah Painted LED Headlights

And I personally will pay you for a pair of "gap fillers".

The projectors didn't come with the headlights? This probably has been answered already.

Re: Omelet's Wicked Pissah Painted LED Headlights

Cool man! Just shoot me a PM whenever you want a set!

They did come with projectors, but after seeing that the quality wasn't quite as good as OEM, I snagged a OEM set off ebay for $50
