Re: painted mirror housing. No Caps!

Thanks guys! I would of responded sooner but I got marked as spam, hah. The puddle lights are l.e.d. strips. I removed my door panels and mirrors and ran the wires through the door-to-chassis harness and tapped into the footwell lights. I bought the "80% brighter, max l.e.d." from pep boys. $40.

And yeah, I sanded them with 120g paper then a 220g block so I wouldnt over cut and then used a high fill primer and wet sanded the guide coat and primer with 600g wet.

Once you get the mirror off, remove the two screws and then the front and back have three clips each that are unlatched via flathead.

Re: painted mirror housing. No Caps!

Magnificent work Adam.. Hey I must ask, is that a faux Overland grille? I had that idea, but never followed thru with it. Looks nice tho, so now I gotta do it.

Re: painted mirror housing. No Caps!

Yeah, it's just expanded sheet but each section is individual and was shaped with a press to actually sit in the slots instead of being flush with the back. If you do it, use a high build primer to round the sharp angles.

Re: painted mirror housing. No Caps!

nice job here. when i did retractable mirrors i remember taking apart one of my old stock mirrors just to see how the mirror separates and wasnt as successful as you here.

diggin the puddle lites tho, is that flush to the bottom or sticked on? any additional photos perhaps..
