Painting callipers

What paint do you use and must I take the wheels off in order to paint them completely? I'm contemplating plasti dipping them.

Re: Painting callipers

I used G2 Caliper paint (like many others on this forum) and it is really good stuff. I dont know if I would plasti dip my calipers.....yes you have to take your wheel off. I believe there is a how to if you search for it.

Re: Painting callipers

plasti dip will not hold up on calipers. i used duplicolor caliper paint and it has been perfect for over 2 years now. take your wheels off and do it right.

Re: Painting callipers

use duplicolor caliper paint or high heat engine paint. the calipers reach triple digit temperatures like nothing so the plasti dip would melt right off

Re: Painting callipers

I tried the duplicolor brush on kit and have to do it every year. Once I'm done with the paint, I'll mostly likely go with G2.

Re: Painting callipers

I followed the instructions to the letter. Even to the point of getting every bit of rust and old paint off. Maybe it is the salt they put on the streets in winter here.
