Part # for Female Plug - SRT8 rear fogs

I am in the process of building my own wiring harness for the SRT8 rear fog lamps but I am having trouble finding the correct Delphi part number for the female plug that goes into the lamp socket. If anyone has constructed their own wiring harness and knows which female plug fits it I would appreciate the info.

Thanks in advance.

I think I'm getting close. Just need a part # confirmation since I don't have one to try in the socket.

Re: Part # for Female Plug - SRT8 rear fogs

Tail light solutions sell complete harnesses for rear fog conversions on all SRT8 WK's. They MIGHT be willing to sell just that plug. Guys name is Ken.

**EDIT** here is a pic of the actual plug they use for the rear fog harness BUT FOR '07-'10**

Re: Part # for Female Plug - SRT8 rear fogs

That's the plug I'm looking for! Any other photos of the end of it you can post? I need to see the shape of the end of the plug that goes into the lamp socket.
I have a great source for connector plugs.
Thanks.

Re: Part # for Female Plug - SRT8 rear fogs

you'd have to look on their website under the install guides (PDF) and it will show a few more pics of that plug.

Re: Part # for Female Plug - SRT8 rear fogs

I'm getting closer to finding the correct plug thanks to the help from antsjeep.
It may be this plug. I'm going to order a couple to try out. I'll let you know.

MPS150-2F

Re: Part # for Female Plug - SRT8 rear fogs

i know this sounds tacky but couldnt you just solder wires on the end of those pins and make youre own plugs with some type of more common plugs and seal up youre solder work with heatshrink

Re: Part # for Female Plug - SRT8 rear fogs

Update. The second plug (gray and black) MPS150-2F is the correct plug. Snaps right on with a nice tight seal. The only problem is that there isn't a metal connector inside that makes contact with the metal pin inside the socket. I may just enlarge the hole at the end of the connector and pass the two wires through and solder the ends on to the pins and then slide the plug back into the socket. The biggest issue with the rear fog lamps that I've read is with water getting into the socket and corroding the whole assembly. At least with this sealed plug I can be assured that water won't get in (or as easily). I can then seal up the ends where the wires enter the plug with some silicone sealant for extra protection.

kennzz05, this is more along the lines of your idea. I'll be putting it all together in the next week or two so I'll keep you informed. I'm figuring about $25 in parts by the time I'm done.

Re: Part # for Female Plug - SRT8 rear fogs

Had a long conversation with Clint at The Electrical Depot about the connector for these fogs... Here's what we came up with:

Here are the part numbers to build the connectors you need for the lights:

12052641 Bag of 5 3.85 2 Way Metri-Pack Female Connector

12048086 Bag of 25 1.81 Cable Seals..... required

12048074 Bag of 25 3.21 18-16 Female Terminals

You'll also need the crimping tool, to make a good connection and allow the terminals to fit properly into the housing:

HT-11 1 @ $33.18 Crimp tool for termianl and cable seal

This is to make a complete connector as shown in post #7, which has been confirmed to fit, properly.

Parts can be found at:

theelectricaldepot.com

Hope this helps, guys!

Bob
