Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

Could you let me know how it is to clean the wheels when they're plasti-dipped? Would a car wash mess them up?

It's super durable! Like I said, I power wash mine. Holds up just fine every time I go to the car wash too. It's tough stuff!!

what about the wheel weights, did you remove them before spraying? or spray with them on? And would it be advisable to remove them, spray the wheel then install the weights back on and spray the weights, or would that work. I am very interested in doing this on my wheels but would like it to look very clean.

I don't have dipped wheels...but I'd suggest removing them, painting, then having a tire shop balance your wheels and use stick-ons or put the weights on the inside of the wheel.

Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

@ Dougisjeep, i believed i used like 2.5 for my wheels and badges, so id just get 4 to be safe, maybe 5..its cheap so it wont break the bank..and its always good to have extra just incase

Thanks bud, I also thought about that and think that might just be the ticket but sick ons tend to fall off unless taped on which looks tacky imo, and there are going to be weights on each side of the rim anyways when balancing.

PS, where did you get the tail lights in your pic? edit.. or how did you tent them?
