PS, where did you get the tail lights in your pic? edit.. or how did you tent them?

It can be "tacky" if they end up being more visible than if they were traditionally installed. Mine are all hidden behind spokes though. Something about hammering something over a clearcoat skeeves me out.

Those are stock tails...I JUST got them back from Scott's Paint and Performance (listed in our vendor section). He does VERY good work.

Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

My 07 Overland came w those chrome clad wheels. Rims w chrome wheel covers (lame) but I sprayed em over 6 months ago and they're holding up perfectly. Used 3 cans cuz I did my spare too. Kept the weights on. Looks clean smooth and rugged!!

Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

This stuff is fun to work with...I did my wheels and grille and the portion in the front bumper that goes straight down from the grille. It gave it a different look then anyone else has. I did run into an issue with cleaning my tires and the tire cleaner running off onto my wheel, the plasti dip just melted using the spray type of Hot Shine and when I tried to wipe it off with a microfiber towel, BAD idea!! Just dont do that and you'll be fine!! Here's a pic of mine as it sits!!

so what if the stuff does tear? can you just spray back over it and it will heal its self? or do you have to remove all and respray?

Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

Ive got a can out in the jeep now. Ive been thinking about taping off the important parts of my tail lights and spraying them. Ive already got a bunch of dont do its from some friends. But if it peels right off why not? What do you guys think.

With where bugs have taken little bits of mine I just do a quick coat right over it and it's gone! It's very forgiving material.

So i will take that as it WILL heal its self if there are scratches or dings once re sprayed?
