Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

Looks good! It's a nice change up...cheap, easy mod but big change! How much did a can run everyone? Can't find it cheaper than $6 here and that's at Lowes.

This thread got me interested and since I am tiered of the chrome trim I figured I would try to plasti-dip a piece of trim. I did one piece tonight and failed miserably. I think it was the can, it wasn't spraying smoothly but rather splotchy. I will make a second attempt tomorrow.

Even though it didn't look good up close, from a distance it looked pretty sweet.

I hope to get all the side trim done tomorrow.

Make sure you shake the can for AT LEAST 1 minute like a crack head before applying. I just did my pillars and antenna mount tonight. So far so good....can't wait to see it in the am when I take all the tape off etc. I'll post pictures if I can!

I shook it like crack head, my neighbors dog wouldn't stop barking at me.

Lucas, I found that spraying closer then directed turned a better result for my applications. Did you spray from the recommended distance? There seems to be a fine line, too far = splotchy cover, too close = rubber particles that stick up like a sore thumb! I did a 6-8" distance for my wheels, bumper, and grille...nice and even appearance.
