Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

People tried that on my old car forum and don't think they got great results. If I remember correctly it became blotchy and eventually brittle, but hey anything is worth a shot.

Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

I just googled it, seems there are mixed reviews. Some say it makes the dip unadhere to the suface, while others seem to have great success. I'd give it a try on a piece of scrap.

Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

thats a good idea but i dont think plasi dip is porous enough to maintain the structural integrity of the hardened paint... i'd imagine it'd do what redpit says... chip off rather easily ... but i agree, someone should def try it!!

Wheels are done, I will post pics of them on the jeep later today, turned out good though. ( I ended up getting the weights moved to the inside and it looks really clean )

Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

For us Canadians, Home Hardware (in my area at least) charges $20 a can . I found it today at Auto Value for $10 a can and bought all three cans they had.

Doing the badges and wheels tonight.

Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

So, after reading this thread, I'm heading out tomorrow to get a couple cans. I went the spray paint route with my rims, and I'm happy with them cause I was able to get a couple coats of clear coat on them to give them a little shine. Going back to what you guys were talking about earlier with putting spray paint on the plasti-dip, I'm def gonna give it a try. Prob spray a patch on my air dam (it's gotta be good for something) and then throw a clear coat over it and see how it comes out. I'll get some pics up tomorrow and we'll see how it looks.
