Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

here is the end result of my plasti dip experience... used 3 cans... messed up a few times. Will buy another can tomorrow and redo the pillars because i think i can do better. I also dipped the rims with them on the car still.. just tapped and stuffed paper behind wheel

Looks good. All that only took 3 cans?

The grill is great but the rims are not my favorite.

I think the wheels look fine but would look much better with new shoes. Plenty of folks have those rims blacked out and they look great. They just have meatier rubber on them so they look different. Some 255/70/17 Firestone destinations would look perfect. Just my opinion.

I've tried plastidip a fee times. My issue is that it pulls up when you try to take off the tape. Do you have to remove the tape while its wet? Wait longer for it to dry?

YES if you're dippin over something that needs to be taped off then the only way it will work is if you peel off the tape while the dip is still wet, peel'n the dip when its dry just aint gonna fly mcfly

I am kinda the master of sucking at plasti dip. Removing the tape when wet is very important and remember you can touch up spots real easy. You don't have to start from scratch if you peal a bit here and there.

Re: Plasti-dip is your friend

I took the back cover off my cell and did a few layers of plasti-dip and then painted white over it. When I tired to remove the dip a few months later I ended up buying a new back...just in case someone is looking into painting over it.
