Yeah, try doing my step by step guide in my last post. It should fix that problem

Thanks man it worked good directions , I guess when you got your cut you did not take key out. The locksmith machine could not cut key with case on and wanted 20 buck to take it apart I took it apart myself they cut key for 3 bucks. This is great mod. To all doing this go to a locksmith shop to get the key cut. The two mobile ones I call wanted $99 to cut key at my house no shop. The key is a bit longer than the stock key. Here a pic of it in

Re: Poor man's WK mod thread

I also had to take mine completely apart to get it in the cutter. It was a royal pain trying to coil the little spring 2 turns to give it the tension it needs to flip the key out. It has to be held in just the right position with tension while putting the case back on. Took almost 30 minutes but I finally got it back together right. You need to have skinny fingers. I originally bought two but now I'm debating whether or not I want to go through all that again.

Re: Poor man's WK mod thread

Yeah I never had to take mine apart before. The locksmith I went to said if they had to they would take it apart for me for no charge. They were able to spin it a certain way in the machine so they wouldn't have to remove it from the shell after all. Saved me a lot of hassle and time. It took me about 10-15 mins messing with it before I figured out the right way to tension the spring. Glad you got it working! It's still one of my favorite mods.

Re: Poor man's WK mod thread

I too am cheap when it comes to upgrades but I wanted something different so I put LED's in my 08 Grand Cherokee, overall the project cost about $15-20 and took a couple hours to install, I think it turned out pretty good. I also cut down my antenna and painted it which was free, another free mod was debadging and it added a cleaner look which I did after these pics were taken. As far as the not so cheap mods I put a 12 in Alpine sub with a hidden amp in the storage in back and 35 watt HID's in the fogs, probably looking to buy a tuner in the near future to give the HEMI a little more boost

Tinting is cheap if you know how to do it yourself

How close of a color match would say it is? How much is each can? I am looking to do my grill, side and rear bumper moldings this summer. Not sure which paint to get yet.

Duplicolor is usually a pretty good match. Enough to not see much of a difference if any at all. If you're really worried about getting a perfect color match go to automotivetouchup.com. They have a great product, and the color is always dead on. It's a bit more expensive, but the spray nozzles are also nicer than the ones duplicolor uses. They use a fine mist nozzle which makes painting shapely parts a breeze. I have done my mirrors, headlight housings, and other parts with their paint. They have everything on their website. You'll need 3-4 coats of sandable primer, 3-4 of base coat, and a good 6-7 of clear coat. Prob 1 can of each will work for your mirror project.
