I was thinking the same thing. Good thing somebody made this thread.

And a side note to any 5.7 guys with a predator, and thinking about getting the line booster: save a little extra and get Ryan's trans tune. It's beast. Not a cheap mod, but thought it applied here.

This family of transmissions uses a full range line pressure sensor mounted on the
outside of the transmission for "closed loop" line pressure control. Due to this
system, traditional methods of raising line pressure by changing the PR spring or
valves have no effect. The Sonnax Line Pressure Booster alters the pressure signal
sent to the computer causing the computer to raise line pressure. Part number
44957-LB1 (68RFE) has 10-15 psi increase, and 44957-LB2 (45/545RFE) has 15-30 psi
increase. Higher line pressure increases clutch holding power and torque
capacity but with these transmissions, the increase has a limited effect on shift
feel. Changes in shift feel will be noticed mostly under aggressive driving or
loaded conditions. This part is ideal for heavy duty and modified vehicles and
even stock transmissions when a little extra pressure is desired. No other
modifications are required. The Line Pressure Booster installs between the
pressure sensor and vehicle harness using OEM style sealed connector.

After the first of the year when I get a Wide Band Sensor installed, I'll get Ryan's trans. tune. Then I'll have all three.....Sonnax Booster, Diablosport and Ryan's trans. tune. I have to stop spending on the WK and save for Christmas, or I'll be in real trouble.

^ haha, I know what you mean. I'm pretty sure Ryan did not recommend the booster with his tune. Definately doesn't mean it can't be done. Please let me know how it works out.

I've heard great things about the Sonnax adaptor as well. Boosting line pressure (within reason) in an auto tranny is a good thing. Manufacturers set them up to shift soft so soccer moms don't complain about hard shifting. Firm shifts from an auto help extend the life and keep the heat down.

I've had one on for 10 months or so,I liked it alot. I just got a TCM tune from FlyinRyan (which raises the pressure), and he advised AGAINST running them both. But for the $40-50 it cost, it was well worth it in the meantime.

There is a plug on the pass side of the trans, close to the 2nd cats, you unplug that and plug the booster inline. maybe 20 min from up ramps to off ramps, depending on how easily your clip locks come free.

Nope! It's a little tough to get to on the passenger side, but it involves unplugging the plug from the tranny and inserting the Booster between (in series) the plug and the transmission. The booster has the appropriate mating plugs, so you can't go wrong.
