This was a great thread on my old car forum. The basic premise is for this to be a one stop thread for cheap mods. $20 and under mods only. Basically im a cheap bastard and I know others are too.
(if this is a repeat thread, then forgive me i searched first)
I can start her off:
Made my own shorty antenna. Use two pliers to pry off the ball on the top of the stock antenna. Cut to desired length, and reattach ball with epoxy. I also painted mine black. Best part about this one is it was free (I had the epoxy and paint sitting in my garage, but even if you don't they are still cheap)
Next:
I also bought a shorty antenna online, it was only $15. The reason I made mine though is the reception is spotty where I live (its mountainy here, I need a longer one [thats what she said]) Heres a pic of the one i bought.
Lastly:
Plastidipped my wheels. Self explanatory and you can see a pic in my signature. Cost ~$20 for all four wheels.
That's < the $20 limit, but you need this too. It's DashCommand. It was like 9.99 (again, under the 20 clams), individually it fits the mod list, but you can't have one w/o the other (or some other OBDII scanner)...
I did these valve stem caps for $1.99!! They match Truck Norris, so I got 'em -like a little present! That was *before* I knew about .40 caliber casings fitting! (@StrongJeff!!). I don't happen to have any (unfurled) on hand, but the next time I take Henrietta (my Glock 27's name) to the range, I'm gonna scoop some up!!! You can also see my < $20 red calipers.
This mod was absolutely free!!! It won't give you the added HP the hula dancer will, but if you wear flip-flops in the summer (like I do), you may like it. This is an ordinary piece of packing stuff (like a computer or something might be shipped with). I cut it down to size, and....
I have more pix somewhere, but I can't find em. I do like the red, but (as I've said 3-5 times before) I've seen a Fiat 500, a Kia and a Hyundai w/red.... If I could could find yellow locally, I'd try that. I've seen Lamborghini with matching calipers -like orange to orange car and green....
