Re: Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone

Hamze, I have a big big of LED's and a bag of resistors I bought to swap out my burnt bulbs in the heater control. So I see you just soldered a resistor onto one of the LED wires and then soldered that to the cuirtcut board, does it matter which way the risistor is located as in positvie or negative?

I bought these 3mm Blue LED's w/resistors.

You Can locate the resistor on either One of the -ve or +ve Leg of the LED it doesnt matter. if you connected the resistor on the +ve Leg for an example, do all of them on the +ve .

On the Evic panel though, u have to test try to illuminate each LED lamp individually before you soldire it into it, because the Evic circuit board has +ves and -ves arranged different from lamp to lamp..

And ohh! Bro, I have tried Blue LED's in the Evic before i install the White ones.... I just didnt like the blue , it just didnt flow with the ( green and white Scheme of the dash .. ) Its just my opinion though

Re: Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone

^^^ So how is that found, did you have the unit plugged in while testing the bulbs, trying the contact point? It looks like on your heater control board you have resistors on both legs of the LED's.

Yup! trying the contact point . the unit is plugged yes.

Yes, the white LEDS did have 2 resistors on the back, i bought them that way... dunno why 2 resistors, and i know that they work with one ! the blue LEDS did have 1 resistor though..

The LEDS i made for the reading lamps are of 5mm Diameter, i did the resistors on them , just One on the Smaller leg ...

Re: Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone

^^^ Awesome, thanks for the help. I will be doing this mod over christmas vacation. I cant wait to finally have working lights in the heater control. I bought it and there were no lights so I though because it was a simple Laredo there were no lights, until I read that the bulbs burning out is common. I went with blue LEDs because I dont like the green stock color. I plan on swapping all the lights if these work.

Re: Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone

And thats awesome you made your own LED lights. The actual LEDs and resistors like I bought off ebay are so cheap, just need to know how to do simple soldering. I just bought some cuirtcut boards off ebay i want to try making LEDs for my overhead interior lights.

My Pleasure my friend! yes the burning bulbs are common! I also thought when i bought my jeep that they had no lights, but i opened them still to make sure

Even if u threw white LEDS in the heater control they will glow in blue, bcz the interior light reflectors are blue

Thats an awesome idea what you did. I can say now that if my soldering goes well I will never pay the insane prices for LED bulbs ever again, I will just make my own from now on.
