Re: Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone

I think Hamze just has the balls and the imagination to know he can figure it it. Im working on my heater control bulbs at the moment after he got me motivated. I got the resistors soldered on the LED's and now about to go take the unit out of the car.

Re: Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone

Here's how I just soldered my LED's to the resistors. I found a piece of styrofoam to stick the wires from the LED bulbs and resistors to hold them against to eachother while I solder them. I tested each one on a 9volt battery to make sure they worked. Now just have to install them. I wired the resistors on the - of the LED bulbs so they are consistant.

I am trying out the blue LED's. See how it looks.

I once opened the gauges to paint the gauge rings to colormatch my ride... now, the Gas gauge malfunctions now!

i am planing to see how to fix it ( if i can ) one day soon... so i hate to open that again... Scottina did open it once, gona ask him soon if they malfunction.... i GUESS you cannot change the color of the gauges they have the green part that will look awkward if you put a blue led in for example...

I did open today my Shifter bezel, and i realized i CANT change its color too , i closed i again , but tommorow i guess gonna re-open it and double check if i can squeeze some Led in there , notice how small the OEM LEDS are... i dont know if my 3mm leds do fit.
Thanks for the responses guys!

Not being able to change the shifter (PRND) colors may be a deal killer for me. I'd really like everything to match, not just some of it. I just wish my Alpine did all green, LOL. (It does all blue, all red, red/green, red/blue, red/amber)... but no all green! Fawk.

I'll keep checking in here to see if you're able to get it Hamze.

Hello Irfan , I am sorry i haven't taken any pics of the dome lights in the making, Yes, they are way more brighter than v-LEDS we are talking about 50 LEDS in there, and all are 5 mm LEDS imagine the output! lol

I'll give you a hint of how i made them, its simple:

i took out the dome lights , measured how much space i have to squeeze in LED's , so i found out i have the place to cut out a peice of Plexiglass sheet, with (25) 5mm holes in it , That i will use to hold the LED's, it looks like this after being cut on a lazer machein:

this one Holds 18 5mm LEDS for example:

After wards, i have to insert my 18 LEDS in the holes,

after i have inserted the leds inside the holes, i will soldire the -ves with each other to the left side for example, and all the +ves with each other to the right side...

then i will simply insert my board that i created in the dome lights, for example this 18 LED board went there : ( i just squeezed it in, its uper and lower edges perfectly touched the dome light bezzel ) once in, its too hard to slip out ) i perfectly measured it before i've cut it.

for the front Dome lights, same process, BUT, i used the Hot wax glue gun to keep them in their . hope it helps !

Another Plexi board example i made , each holding 15 5mm leds, i painted the board flat black ....

OUTPUT at night

Hey!!! this is Just how i did them!!! + REPS bro!

But MAN! those LEGS ARE TOOOOOOOOO TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL to fit in! lol ! you must cut as much as u can out! they wont fit! You MUST also cut and shorten the space where the resistor meets the LED, cut from both, the resistor and the LED

I just noticed that. So i am going to just cut right in the middle between the LED and resistor then move them closer and solder them, prob just apply heat since there is already enough solder on the wires. The legs I left full length and will cut to fit once ready to install on the cuirtut board. Its taking longer than I thought, but getting there.

And im honered to get a +rep from you actually, thanks.

( Bro! Keep this between Us ) : it took me 2 weeks minimum to prepare LEDs for the whole jeep , including shrink tubing, and installing them on the plexi board ... if fellow forum members knew this they will run away from that MOD! loooool
