This is one unbelivable project you are doing Hamze.
I'm very impressed and I would love to see more pics soon.

Re: Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone

Hello Timmy!!!! wished that you got The smaller LED's to work on, so the work turns neater and you dont have to trim those rubber things.... You have some great progress!

Notice the Small LED's that i recommend, they flow in Neat, and no Heavy welding!!! just a little neat dot!

So you dont have to trim the Rubber thingy! i ADORE neat work....

I have opened the window controlers, i GUESS that we cant switch the Led's in there ... plz give it a try and get to me...

I have also opened the Shifter ( PRND ) bezzel, the LED's are GREEN very small, and very powerful!! but if we switched them to White, they will only illuminate in BLUE, AND : Their illumination power will Stay the SAME! ... ALSO, we have to get small tiny squared LEDs to fit there.. I were searching for them LEDs for 2 days now in ALL my country, not finding still.....

Had Some Time Yesterday Night, so i prepared the 'chromed' shifter knob ( under part ) and the Chrome Frame, and painted them Flat Black...

Results : 5 Lights strokes of flat black, 15 minutes between each coat... Lots of time..

( Freshly painted : Still Waiting the paint to Cure )

Also Worked on the Radio Bezel .... Lambo Color

The Results : 5 Light Coats in White, 15 minutes between each coat... Then 5 Light Coats in Pearl Red .. That's 2 and 1/2 Hours My friends .. , 3 hours with the painting time...

( still waiting Paint to Cure ... thats why the finish is not evenly colored... )

The Hamze struck again

So these are the ones you recommend. Suppose they already have the resistors built in and you just need to crack them open, right?

^^^ Yes My bro Herve ! you are totally right.

You just have to simply slide the white housing out, so you have the LED with its resistors ready to install !

Timmy - I have had some soldering experience at the lab I used to work at that should not be the hard part ... I guess the time consuming part is making me iffy about it lol

Can't wait for the pix to be posted, I just need to know what type of LED's to get.

Hamze and Timmy - What type of LED's did you guys use for the A/C control
units?

Thanks for the great tip

All right, I'm all for skipping as much of the surgical soldering as possible. Thanks bro.

Re: Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone

Im also curious on the passenger air bag warning light, if I should change them. they are already leds, so do i just put leds in or is another resistor needed? I think that black thing that has an r7 next to it is a resistor for them. Ughhhhh, and now just noticed the rear defrost light is still orange, same with the AC button when pressed. How in the hell do i change them out now.

Re: Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone

I'd luv to cover some of the trim in carbon fiber. But I hear its expensive to work with. But it looks great I think.

I cant believe how bright the buttons are now with leds, like they are glowing an awesome blue. And I figured out I didnt need to remove any of the rubber boots with the upper buttons, the clearance behind the buttons is enough I could have the resistor and led wires going straight up from the board. I'll take some pix since I have the units out once again figuring how to install more leds everywhere.

I dont get why they have leds in some locations but regular bulbs other locations. And it seems all the regular bulbs are already burnt out, im changing lights that never previously worked and my dash is looking so much different right now. I can see more.

Re: Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone

I found this site selling smt leds I want to give a try. I am still searching around for tiny tiny high powered leds that might fit with what we need.

http://www.ledsdirect.com/

I came across this great read on leds and how they work, and why resistors are needed.

Re: Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone

I think the other leds came out much better, I didnt need to remove any of the rubber boots because of the space behind the buttons is large enough.
