Re: Project Ground Pounder SRT Wide-Body Clone

Hamze, I posted this for you. I came across an informative read dealing with replacing smt leds in autos. The car they use is not a Jeep but its on the same note. I found smt PLCC-4 leds cheap online. With this info im sure every single light in the WK can be swapped to another color.

the resistor at R7 is 470 ohm, the first 2 numbers are the value and the last number is how many zeros. It's a standard rating for a low voltage SMD LED on a 12v system. Replacing it with another SMD LED will be fine, if you go for a 3mm or 5mm LED then you might want to desolder R7 and place a 330 ohm resistor in there. You don't have to use SMD resistors. Standard 1/4 watt resistors can be used and are usually small enough to fit in the same area, just lay them flat and bend the legs to the correct contacts.

Great info, now I know how to read resistor ratings, thanks. I had a feeling that was the resistor since its on the same cuircut path. Im going to use smd's in there. I will update when done.
