The rear bumper step on my 2008 wk has always faded terribly turning it basically white. Has anyone else had this issue. I tried back to black and any other plastic restorer on the step it it was nothing but very temporary fix. I finally just took it off the bumper abs spray painted it black with rustoleum, this has held up for months! It's a good fix for anyone with this issue!
Tried pressure washing, lasted about like the other temporary cleanings.
Then tried a can of the Rustoleum black textured enamel after a good pressure wash.
Worked like a charm. Expect it will still fade sooner or later, but for about 8 bucks easy to fix.
I ended up using the ReNu system and I was very impressed. I used it on the piece you mentioned as well as some of the other Jeep plasic and it's held up very nicely. I also used it on my wife's 2007 CRV which has a ton of plastic on the lower section around the body and it still looks great. Just follow the instructions and you'll be pleased for the next 6 months...
