Projectors + HIDs (mini-gatling shrouds) - http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=227

Cutoff is amazing, light is bright and sharp and very clear. Looks especially good with the white WK. Only problem is they flash repeatedly once the lights are off (even with the lights on the OFF position and the engine off). Talked to the RTS guys and they said a relay probably would not help, though I could try.

Worth noting, I bought these headlights separate, much much much easier to open than OEM. Got the second pair open after just one cycle @ 220* for 15mins.

THANKS!

Considering a change to some cheap DDM 55w 5000k fogs. I've got xenondepot 5000k 35watt HIDs on xentec ballasts now, but they appear a little more blue than the H1 5000k HID headlights and LED switchbacks.

That or I was also consdering RTS's projector fog lights (35w) if I could mod them in

I love the shrouds!! Nice job. I have the older shrouds that have the flat bottom. I am suprized yours worked without the relay. I put mine in and nothing happened. I would get a relay. I've had my HID retro fit for about 4 years now. I have since switched to 50W kit and replaced the old relay. No problems and they work on Headlight "Auto feature"

The flickering and bulb out warning is an easy fix with one of two ways:

1. Buy error cancellers, which plug in in-line to the ballasts. This will not work if you have a relay kit. This works on about 95% of vehicles, but does not work on MK5/6 Jettas and most new Fords. I have tried them on the newest Benzes, so I'm assuming it'll work fine.

2. If you do not have a plug and play kit and have a relay harness, get a set of gold resistors (typically sold as 6ohm 50watt). Take one resistor and wire it in PARALLEL on the relay's trigger side (the plug that goes into the headlight). The lights will no longer blink. If you have a bulb out warning, wire the other resistor to the other headlight plug.

Just to make clear, when I say parallel, I mean the the resistor should have one wire connected to the positive wire and one to the negative. If the resistor is removed, it should not interrupt the circuit. If it does, you wired it wrong. Any other questions or if you need parts, email me.

No, they dont flicker while on. Theyre fine while on. They flash randomly back and forth when the power is OFF entirely haha/

The wk has no bulb out warning. All he needs is a relay harness for each lamp. No error cancellors or resistors are needed. There's thousands of wk jeeps with hid,s and none needed the cancellors or resistors.....just a simple relay harness.

Looks good. Thanks for the credit.

All you need is a relay harness. I ran HIDs for about 4 years without a relay harness and the headlights flickered just like yours.

I'm going to switch to 5000K soon. It looks better than 6000K.

And I'm starting to think the LED switchbacks add too much glare in the housing. I'm starting not to like them.

Are those the Morimoto Mini H1 4.1 or the Morimoto Mini D2S 2.0? I love the Mini Gatling Gun, I rock those on the Blazer fogs

While Morimoto Mini's are good, I would have chosen a projector that could better take advantage of the generous amount of space available in the WK housing. You would have been served better by going with the FX-R or a TL projector but at least you got the output you were going for.

I'm thinking about doing a Morimoto Mini D2S or H1 projector fog setup like JVX has done.

+1 for going about it the right way.
