Re: Roof Rack Cross Rails

I took mine off for a long haul (towing 6k lbs) to get what ever better gas mileage I could squeak, and actually like the look of it better without them so they are off unless I need to carry something from now on!

Re: Roof Rack Cross Rails

Mine has a black knurled knob that loosens the attaching clamp. When that happens, the whole clamping mechanism can slide inboard on the cross rail and be lifted out. In the pic you can see that one clamping mechanism is further out than the other.

Re: Roof Rack Cross Rails

I just took off not only the cross rails but the entire set up. I don't see myself ever strapping anything to the roof and beyond that, I think it looks great without!

If anyone is selling there cross rails i'll take 'em off your hands! I want / need some, and they are just so expensive for what they are.

Re: Roof Rack Cross Rails

I don't carry anything on my roof so I went with the SRT roof rails that I color matched.

Re: Roof Rack Cross Rails

I remove the cross rails and side rails during the Summer months,Replaced with SRT Rail deletes.
But reinstall them in the Winter for the Snowboard box.
Prefer the uncluttered look of the SRT rails.
