Roof rack or no Roof rack?

I just don't know how I like my WK.

With the roof rack and crossbars?

With only side rails and no crossbars?

Clean on top?

How about you guys?

Re: Roof rack or no Roof rack?

I prefer mine with only side rails and no crossbars.

Re: Roof rack or no Roof rack?

I keep the crossbars on at all times. I've been in a few situations when I needed them and didn't have them on so now they are always on.

Re: Roof rack or no Roof rack?

I just recently installed mine and really like them. It just looks more like a jeep with them on... IMHO

My vote is to leave them.

Re: Roof rack or no Roof rack?

I took mine off once, to see how it would look. I finally decided it looked naked without it. But just to be different I painted the metal parts of the rack to color match my jeep. From time to time I use it too, so the cross bars are a must for me.

Re: Roof rack or no Roof rack?

I did not like the look so I took mine off. Have no use for it right now. Only the bolts are in the roof until I can get 1 more SRT type rail.

Never liked the look off roof rails so I replaced them with the SRT ones.. Looks more sporty without them..

Re: Roof rack or no Roof rack?

At least the side rails. Without them an suv looks whimpy. For cross bars, if needed, get a set of Thule's that can be put on and off easily.

Re: Roof rack or no Roof rack?

The WK1 looks wider without them, definitely not wimpy.

I think there is something really sexy about the WK with nothing on top.

And nothing looks wimpy about it IMO.
