I would think airbags are a must if you plan on towing with any lowered vehicle. I helped someone pick up bags of cement from homedepot and loaded it in my cargo area and the springs looked like they were fully compressed down and the car was resting on the rear bumstops. That was with about 10 bags at 80lbs per bag, so 800lbs.

I have the srt Eibachs with stock shocks and I love the drop. I did blow out my front passenger strut already but was because the were doing construction on a highway bridge and left it like a speed bump with no warning signs so i didnt slow down over it. Since i swapped the blown strut out I have had zero issues. The ride is tight and over bumps it travels up once then sticks, no more up and down like with stock. I do "bottom out" in the rear but thats because i didnt cut anything off the bump stops, so basically im slamming down on the bump stops all the time but I actually like the feel of it and I know i wont blow a rear shock because there is hardly any travel. I'd get the srt lowering springs because it looks great.

he is slammed on the SRT eibachs with no trimming or a shorter bumpstop. You have to trim/alter or buy new bumpstops for the SRT Eibachs and Bwoodys. I would think the 3/4-1" the SRT springs would lower you Irf will be a ok. The SRT guys tow things larger than 3-4000 pounds......

I would suggest some Bilstein shocks/struts though. You can get all 4 for $240+ on sale. I recommend those if you are totally stock and towing boats etc.

Like I said, I lowered mine about 2" and have the stock shocks still in. Im not cutting the bumpstops because im worried if I do I will blow out a shock hitting a bump too hard and the stress on the shock. Right now travel is limited from the full bumpstop. Air bags would be great for when your towing heavey things then can set them lower when regular driving.

scott in your attacment you said that srt8 eibachs has a fix for the bottoming out problem do you know what it is? and how do you know that it is in there if you buy it?

#24 ·
do you know what they did to fix them?

#25 ·
I think they include new bumpstops for the rear...but not sure. There is also fix that uses energy suspension bumpstops trimmed and installed without the metal cover thingy.

#26 ·
the fix is to not install the silver spacer that comes with the new bumpstops...thats it. All new SRT Eibcahs include a new cup and spacer. Do not install the spoacer

ok, really greatful for your help thanks again

Well here is a picture of the WK Eibach Springs on oe shocks, I just installed them about a week ago. The picture in my Sig is stock springs.

Its not like the cars bottoming out with the srt eibachs, its because the springs are alot shorter than stock wk springs going over large bumps fast causes it to hit the bumpstops on mine because I never cut them. Its really not bad, I actually like it because it seems to stick to the road really good. Feels like a sports cars suspension now, very tight. The girls luv it too. Lol.
