Re: srt8 springs vs. eibach springs on 05 gc limited

FYI, if you install lowering springs on stock shocks, like several have in this thread, you will blow out the shocks, as they are not designed to work with anything lower than stock ride height. The only shocks that work with lowering springs are Bisteins or Koni's. All others will blow out, as they are just OEM replacements.

Re: srt8 springs vs. eibach springs on 05 gc limited

I was wanting to lower the rear only with srt8 eibach springs with srt 8 bilstein and leave the front on the wk eibachs and oem shocks. I like the height of the front but too much height in the rear. Can this be done without any problem .

Re: srt8 springs vs. eibach springs on 05 gc limited

on the topic of lowering- going back to stock height with a level ride... would you recommend dropping the rear to be level with the OEM front springs or raise the front to be level with the rear?

also i run bilstein hds, are these better or worse than the wk bilsteins (red shocks on justforjeeps.com)?

@HEMIbeast (or anyone else running H&R's):

I was reading this old post and saw you had H&R springs, with a fender height of 31" in front and 32.25" in the rear. I wanted to know if your jeep was 4wd (more weight in front) and if you were running stock tire size.

I recently put my jeep on OEM srt coils and srt bilsteins, but only dropped 1/4" in front and 1/2" in the rear. My front is 32 and the rear is 32.25. I want the the drop you had in the post. My jeep is 2wd Hemi.

Also, since that post was a couple years old, have the springs settled in lower or still holding up?

@HEMIbeast: your mailbox is full.

Well, can I lower the rear with different springs than the front without a problem. Or if I put srt shocks on the rear will that lower it some.

Thanks

Re: srt8 springs vs. eibach springs on 05 gc limited

I just replaced my springs and shocks on my '06 Overland with OEM SRT springs and SRT Bilstiens and only got a 1/4" drop in front and 1/2" drop in back. What a waste of time and money! Now I'm looking into the SRT Eibachs. BWoody's look a bit too low for my taste.
