Hi all, I am new to the forum and just want to make sure everyone is aware how awesome these are and how easy they are too install!

I bought 5 struts (1 for the hood, 2 for the liftgate, and 2 for the liftglass)on Amazon for $15-20 each with (about $80 all in) Free 2-day shipping. All of my struts were shot on my 6 year old WK, so I was pretty excited to get that functionality back. The liftgate struts came off easily and installed easily with a T40 torx bit. The liftglass and hood struts come off by popping off the retaining clips at each end, and the new struts just pop right on to the old posts. The whole install literally took less than 10 mins for 5 struts. The difference is incredible. The StrongArms are ALMOST too strong! haha. The hatch takes a little bit of effort to close now, but no more hatch falling on my head, and no more propping my hood up by wedging a Maglight in the corner! and my liftglass now pops open on its own again with my keyfob. That is extremely convenient and I missed that big time!

Don't hesitate to do this easy and cheap upgrade if you are having any issues with your hood, liftgate, or liftglass supports! Easily worth it at triple the cost and effort!

Holy Moses, these things are a beast to pull down! I replaced the ones on my '06 WK with Strongarm cartridges. It was easy to do, only tool needed was a Torx bit wrench.

Thing is, they're so stiff it really takes more effort to pull the hatch closed. Which may be a reasonable trade-off if these last a while. Previous ones seemed to need replacing at least every other year. Time will tell.
