Tail light tint issues

has anyone used tint film on their tail lights here?

I've got a 06 and I've come to the conclusion that it either can't be done, or I am just never going to get any better at applying tint film. literally gone through an entire roll, the convex back side of the light is always where I get messed up. anyone have any tips or some secret that I don't know?

*note, spraying everything with a 40/60 alcohol/water mix like usual, and using a heat gun. just so you don't think I'm trying to slap it on there and go

Re: Tail light tint issues

its not easy.....I tried doing some headlights. You will have some bubbles...but ya gotta park in the sun and let them heat up to clear most of those. Then the bubbles that dont clear...you have to pop them with a needle and then flatten them out.

Re: Tail light tint issues

it's just that wrap around that kills me, too much of a convex to be able to get the film flat. I think I'll give up and just buy a second pair and spray them, unless someone here has a godsend of a suggestion lol

Re: Tail light tint issues

you have to cut them in half like in the middle of the curve and do them in two peices and the trim it in the middle

looks incredible (also the light bar is badass)

but the seam isn't too visible? the thought crossed my mind but I was worried it would be entirely too obvious what was going on

how many incisions? if I say please would you possibly make a little diagram of where your cuts were? I've been racking my brain and already burned through an entire roll of tint trying to get it all in one shot

that's how I'm starting to feel about it, I'm gonna give it one more shot today, but I'm gonna buy a new set anyways, so I guess I'm just getting some practice in

plus I'm gonna get the pieces together for that light bar logan had going on there, except in white, to match my new tag lights that SHOULD be here in the mail today.

this whole new jeep thing has given me the serious mod bug

Re: Tail light tint issues

If you spray the lights with soapy water and use a heat gun or blow dryer and slowly push the water out with a squeegee
