Tail Lights

What is the best tail light tint spray to use? I only want to do a light shade over my led tails. Not to dark and I want to be able to still see the light I just want to it to be a darker shade. What is the best spray to use? And after do I need to put a clear coat on? THANKS

Re: Tail Lights

VHT Niteshades is what I used on mine. Two light coats got me where I wanted. You can still see red through them but at night they look black. Then 4-5 coats of clearcoat. You have to wet sand and buff them otherwise they will end up looking dull not shiny.

Re: Tail Lights

K thanks I think i might try it out.
Can I buy the VHT NightShades and clear coat at like Kragen auto store probaly?
And Im not looking to go dark. I have chrome spyder led light and I just want to make them look a tiny bit darker so they aren't so shiny and chrome. Would you guys recomend 1 coat probaly?
Just to go for a basic smoke look.

Re: Tail Lights

Yeah one coat is not very dark at all. You wouldn't even really know you have tint on them. Two coats is about perfect if you are not looking to go black. The clear coat is key. It will actually lighten it up just a bit. Make sure your coats are nice and light.
