Re: Talk about ANYTHING WK thread.

Truck Norris needs some new racing slicks. I'd like to go wider (with all the power Truck Norris produces [ -eye-roll lol], I get a little squirrelly sometimes around corners) and lower profile than the stock 235/65. I know the 235 is the width, and the 65 means they're 65% as wide as they are tall (or vice versa). I'd like to stay on the stock rims (for now).

How wide/low can I go?

On the stock wheels? You could go to a 255/65R17 to be safe. You may be able to squeeze a 265/65 but it may rub

Could I go to 50 or 60? I feel like I'm "rolling" the tires when I try to corner too fast.

Thats because you are rolling the sidewalls. If you go down to a 60 or a 50 you will throw the speedo off. I would look into getting LT tires ove the P tires. LT are light truck and P is passenger. Lt's generally have a stiffer side wall. Or you could look into a performance oriented tire but to get specs close to stock is gonna be hard

I dont know why i didnt catch this earlier but your partly right.

The 235 is the width in millimeters, but the 65 isn't a percentage of the width. The 65 is also in millimeters and is the sidewall measurement. And of course the R17 or whatever size people run just means thats the size of the wheel you can mount that tire onto but there is a minimum and maximum wheel widths also for each tire.

So put on the mids and solved the knocking issue i had which is great. Tomorrow i get the stuff welded in and hopefully be set.

Also going about 75 cruising down the highway coming back form the shop some guy was yelling at me if i had straight pipes. Took off to about 90 and all i see is a thumbs up form him way back haha.

Heard this thing run last week and why i decided on the shop. Sounds like a monster and they own/ drag race it.
