My 08 WK being the first car that I am modifying, I am learning this all as we go. And something about back spacing and offset has my head spinning.
My current setup -
08 WK with Factory Everest Rims (17x7.5" Wheels: Backspacing = 6.25" Offset = 50.8mm Bolt pattern = 5x5 (5x127mm).
Stock Size 245/65/17 Tires.
Spidertrax 1.5" Wheel Spacers
I like this look, with the tires sticking out past the fenders. (My truck currently)
My next move is OME HD Lift, 17x8 Mambas & 265/70/17 Duratracks.
How do I obtain the same look (or maybe tires sticking out a little wider than they are currently) When I get the wheels, do I keep the spacers? Do I remove them? I don't get how all of this works.
If it makes any difference to my questions, I will be doing the pinch weld before the lift, wheels & tires arrive.
What is backspacing, what does it mean, how does it effect wheel size, spacing, location.
Same questions for offset? Explain it to me like I am 5...
