Another forum I am on does this, its great for the little nothings not worthy of a new thread. Its a confidence booster for your WK to let it know even the little things are important... oil change, de-badging, painting bits and pieces, repairs, the fact that you finally got to drive it...
Ill start:
- considering I made all of 2.1 hrs for the 6.5 hrs I was at work, I pulled the grand in, pulled the front end off and rerouted my HID relay harnesses for my fogs and headlamps. When I initially installed them I was slamming them in with no time to worry about wire routing or ballast mounting.
-Checked all my fluids to make sure all was still good considering the open heart surgery done to her a couple months back, all checked out good other than what looks like a slight coolant leak from my radiator end tank.
-dusted her exterior and shined the tires (she got a bath last night but it sprinkled on the way home)
-Installed a steel skid plate!
-Saturday I pulled off my steering wheel to resolve my squeeking clockspring and clicking turn signal cancelor cam, In a moment of NON-thinking I spritzed the clockspring with some spray lube, good news... it is quiet... bad news, I had a "check electric brake system" message in the evic and the traction control light on following. Quickly hooking up the witech I found I had an "internal scm failure". 2 days of driving later it went off and hasnt come back (phew)
Didn't fit. The revision is in and I will make another out in a couple weeks for the final fit and instal. Once that is done they will be up on the website!
Got my LED's in the mail todAy from vleds. I didnt realize the maps I ordered didnt come in a pair, so I only have one....and it is 6k and the rest are 5k, what a fail. Do you think it would look terrible if my footwells and rear are 5k and front maps 6k?
Finally took the time to replace my leaking trans cooler lines. Over the last year of ownership they went from moisture around the fittings to starting to drip and coat everything below them. I also removed my fan shroud (gives me more room to maneuver the cooler lines) and found that it appears my super slow coolant leak I have also delt with for the last year is not from the radiator as I suspected, it was simply a crappy hose clamp... so two birds... one stone... it was awesome!
from there I drove the Jeep over to the detail bay and was able to spray degreaser over the engine bay and underside of my hood and pressure wash everything.
Next on the list... get it dirty! next sunday its goin down, a local jeep club is adopting a trail and I have been invited by a member to join along with a couple coworkers and their rigs... I am SO ready for some mud, rocks, stumps and puddles!
You take the whole piece out of the dash, the panel that holds the info bar, hvac and the bottom bar with the heated seats and traction control. Then its 6 small screws and the hvac comes out, then u just pop the back off and take out the board. De solder the old ones and re solder the new ones. Very easy. I doubt you will be able to do the heated seats though.
i ordered the whole new buttons from mopar from what i saw looking at it it should be east to just replace the whole button the stealership wanted like 300 to do the lights
After the last time getting warranty work done at the dealer I noticed they tore up my intake heat shield rap I had done, so today I redid it.
Then I washed and waxed her!
I also gave the back side of my switch covers a couple coats of night shade to doll them down a little. I noticed the last long night drive I did they were a little too bright. Now I can actually make out the logos!
...my light bar, not my Jeep. It's now flush with the top of the Rola. it cut down on wind noise quite a bit. I also took out the Rola extension and returned it. It was more than I needed and was just excess weight, drag, and noise up top.
